The Taproot Foundation is a volunteer organization that builds teams of professionals to work on projects for local nonprofits. Our volunteers have backgrounds in marketing and creative services, strategy management, human resources, and/or information technology. As a Taproot Foundation volunteer, you will have the chance to work with a local nonprofit that specializes in one of the following issue areas: The Web Developer role is responsible for the implementation of feature/functions of technology projects. She/he will work on a team to code the front-end of a website designed by a graphic designer. The ideal web developer will have 3+ years of experience and will be familiar with the following: DHTML, CGI, VbScript, ASP, PHP, JSP, SQL, FTP, Telnet, and VSS.
Each Taproot Foundation project lasts 5 – 6 months with volunteers committing 3 – 5 hours of their time each week, often virtually. This opportunity is flexible enough to work around the schedule of your full-time job.
